Summary: The work analyzes the national foundations of legal regulation of environmental safety, the relevant principles and priorities in the investigated area, recorded in the system of regulations; investigated the concept of «ecological security» as scientific, legal and intersectoral viewpoint; proposed own definition of the investigated categories.
